In town for SUNY graduation and our hotel was across the parking lot from Perkins. Had the chance to eat here twice. First breakfast was much better than the second because the second occurred on Mothers Day. That breakfast was lukewarm and my eggs were barely cooked. Anyway, day 1, I had some senior combo. For under $10, it was a steal. My son who had something else entirely said the pancakes were some of the best he ever had. Service on both days was pretty good, especially on Mothers Day considering the crowd. Final analysis...good breakfast but avoid on crowded holidays.
The staff was lovely quick attentive and kind... it's 1 step below fast food but the service makes all the difference. I appreciate the friendly touch.
Haven't been to a Perkins in many years. It was fabulous! Hot coffee in a carafe at your table. Love that you don't have to wait for a waitress for refills. I had the build a breakfast. So many options. It was hard to choose. Our waitress was excellent and checked in with us several times. My food was hot and cooked to order. For a great breakfast try this Perkins!
Considering the labor shortage I think they are doing pretty well; I'd never thought I'd see the day when I would feel obligated to thank the server for coming in today but so many of my favs have cut back on the hours they are open or even closed Still have a full menu selection; I had chicken fried steak with asparagus- it was delicious My friend had hot turkey slices which he also enjoyed Great selection of deserts Definitely coming back
I remember going to Perkins when I was a kid. They have all closed on Long Island, and I haven't been in forever. My family came here after a funeral service. We called ahead and asked if they seat a party of about 20 people. It was Super Bowl Sunday and the manager said it wouldn't be an issue. We had a private room to ourself and our waitress was a real rockstar. She handled our large party perfectly and everything came out without error. I don't remember her name, but she was great. Everyone ordered all different things. I heard a lot of people saying it was good. I'm a child and I had chicken fingers and had fries and Mac and cheese as my sides. They were good. My boyfriend and I also split some fried pickles. They were good..but the batter kept falling off. Decent experience!
